Captain Joe Hoy

Captain Joe Hoy is in charge of all fleet boats as well as the private yachts owned by South Florida-based BRB Yachts. Having worked in the industry an impressive period of time, Hoy is well-schooled in all fashions of boats and maintenance including the engine room, helm and all electronics.

Hoy's previous experience includes serving as a delivery captain for Betram Yachts where he was responsible for all sea trials for the new boats on the market. Hoy was also a commercial fisherman in the New England area for fifteen years where he was in command of vessels up to 120 feet in length.

Hoy was born in Greenwich, Connecticut and served in the US Navy for six years earning the title of 2nd Class Petty Officer in the Boatswain Mate Division. He earned his license from the Chapman School of Seamanship which is located in Stuart, Florida and is regarded as the best program in the country. Here he received a master's license and STCW 95, firefighting and first aide and a merchant mariner document.

Prior to moving to Florida in 1990, his experiences have enabled him to travel around the world from the Artic circle to the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the Bahamas.
