The new 680 WideBody reflects the same philosophy that has inspired Rodriquez's flying-bridge boats over the last twenty years. Designed by Giuseppe Cimino, this is a model with grand interior and exterior living spaces.
Drawing on the concepts characterizing the previously successful WideBody models, the design of the 680 WideBody was a natural evolution. This model is the result of another requirement of the widebody concept: the creation of a more habitable and maneuverable flying-bridge boat under 20 meters. Thanks to the WideBody philosophy, the upper deck is as wide as the boat itself, with the forward area of the fly bridge incorporating the helm station on the starboard. Aft of the large helm station is a large divan with a dining table for up to eight people. There is also a large sunbathing area at the stern with room for six guests. To port of the help station is a wet bar with a sink, refrigerator and grill. In the forward area of the deck, the wheelhouse comprises another sunbathing area, with room for four people. The flying bridge may be reached from both the stern cockpit, by the stairs flanking the glass door, and by the stairs located between the salon and the dining room.
Completely protected by the overhang of the fly bridge, the external cockpit extends from side to side and is furnished with a large, comfortable divan and a wooden dining table able to accommodate eight people. The deck is covered with teak boards, while the soffit is made of fiberglass with inset halogen lights.
The Rodriquez 680 WideBody is powered by two 1100 HP engines coupled to V-drive reverse/reduction gears, while propulsion is provided by two Mibral four-bladed propellers. The boat reaches a maximum speed of 32 knots and has an estimated fuel range of 340-400 nautical miles. A 19 kW generator is sufficient to power all the onboard equipment, including an air conditioning unit that provides desired temperature in all areas of the boat. Special attention has been paid to onboard safety with seven watertight compartments equipped with water detection alarm, 15 smoke detectors distributed all over the boat and closed-circuit television surveillance of the engine compartments.
The synergies available at the Rodriquez yards and the capabilities of its engineering offices allow Rodriquez to build any kind of luxury yacht based on a client's specific design. Rodriquez can offer all its experience and facilities to help produce a truly world class yacht.
